2020-2021 Colorado State Miniature Miss

Hi! My name is Avyn Ray and I am your 2020-2021 Colorado Cinderella Miniature Miss

I have been with the Cinderella program for about a year. Before I started with Cinderella I competed in my local Fruita Fall Festival Pageant in 2019. It was a fun experience for me and I won Fall Fest Princess. A couple of months later, I saw some advertisements about a Cinderella preliminary pageant in Grand Junction so I decided to register. I thought it would be a fun weekend and a fun experience. I had no idea what I was about to embark on. It loved every minute of that pageant but I had no idea what I was doing. I was so excited when I won the mini miss title for that prelim! I found out later that I had to attend the state competition, wow! What started out being a fun event that my mom and I did together turned out to be the start to an incredible journey.

The state competition was even better than the Grand Junction prelim. I won the Colorado Miniature Miss title AND the state Cover Girl title! It felt like a dream! This was my first time competing at this level and I never expected to win! But my journey took me even further with a trip to Dallas for the International Cinderella Competition. What a great experience that was. I had so much fun competing, learned a ton, and met so many amazing new friends. I even won a special award from the judges: Best Non-Finalist Casual Wear. After internationals, I started my reigning year with my Cinderella sisters. It has been the BEST year so far!

I’m a 5th grader at Monument Ridge Elementary in Fruita, Co and I’m in the Student Council there. I have several jobs within student council and Cinderella has helped me with the confidence I need to do my jobs at school. I love to dance and I dance with a pre professional group at my dance studio, Absolute Dance, 3 nights per week. I’ve been dancing since I was 4; my mom says I’ve grown so much as a dancer. I feel like dance is a way to show expression and keep my body moving. For me, it’s my mental health. Besides dance, I also like to be outside riding my bike, making videos, shopping with my mom, and swimming. I have 5 siblings including 1 year old boy/girl twins. My house is always crazy but it is so much fun!

I can’t wait to see where else my Cinderella journey takes me. You never know, maybe you’ll see me on the winning stage at Internationals or on Miss America one day. Until then, I’ll keep working hard and being kind.
